An intrepid rider, a gifted singer and an able painter in oils, Mrs. Gertrude Seaton, of Coronation Cottage, Askett, died in Stoke Mandeville Hospital on Friday at the age of 82. Mrs. Seaton was the widow of Mr. Tom Seaton and was a member of a large and well-known family in the County. She was a popular artiste at village concerts, was educated in London and received her singing lessons from a local celebrity.
Mrs. Seaton was the mother of Mrs. M. Darvill, of Little Kimble, who, as Mary Seaton, has gained international recognition as a horsewoman and has won numerous trophies for show jumping and riding.
The funeral service was conducted at Aylesbury Borough Cemetery and interment followed in the family grave.
