The funeral of Mr. William George Bacon, whose death occurred on Sunday, took place on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Bacon, who was 63 years of age, came to Kimble on his retirement in 1930 from a Civil Service position. He was a native of London. During the whole of his lifetime Mr. Bacon has been actively interested in the Baptist Church, and was connected with the Beulah Baptist Church, South Norwood, from its beginning. On removing to the Brixton area he was associated with the Kenyon Church there, and for many years he was deacon and treasurer at Grafton Square Baptist Church, Clapham. He was also chairman of the Brixton Y.M.C.A., and was connected with the Telegraph Messengers' Christian Association. He was forced to retire in 1930, owing to a serious illness, and on settling down at Kimble he took an active interest in the village life, especially in regard to the Free Church, and was secretary when he died. A funeral service was held at the Free Church. The interment took place at the burial ground at the Princes Risborough Baptist Church.
