Tomorrow (Saturday) Mr. and Mrs. Fred Redding, of Caithmore, Bridge Street, Great Kimble, will be recalling how 50 years ago, when they were both 29, they were married at St. Nicholas Church, Great Kimble. For tomorrow is their Golden Wedding Day, and they will receive the congratulations of their three sons, four daughters, and their "in laws", as well as 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and numerous friends and neighbours.
Mrs. Redding is a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Gilbert, and was born in Kimble. She has nine brothers and one sister, and used to live at Walnut Cottage, next door to Ivy Cottage, and a few steps from her present home. Walnut Cottage was damaged by a bomb during the recent war.
Mr. Redding is a Wendover man by birth, but has spent most of his 79 years in Kimble. He is son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Redding.
