      A Kimble man who spent almost his entire working life with British Rail, died in Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury, last Thursday. He was Mr. Harold Francis Redding, of The Homestead, Longwick Road, Great Kimble. He was 71.
      Born at Great Kimble, Mr. Redding went to school there and was a choirboy at the parish church.
      He joined the railways in 1913 and started at Kimble station. He later went to Gerrards Cross station to work but in 1915 went into the Army and served in France and Italy.
      On his return from the war he again started work on the railway and was posted to Beaconsfield Station where he stayed until his retirement - which completed a total of 49 years' service.
      He leaves a widow, two sons, a daughter and three grandchildren.
      The funeral service for Mr. Redding was held in Great Kimble Parish Church on Monday.

      Tomorrow (Saturday) Mr. and Mrs. Fred Redding, of Caithmore, Bridge Street, Great Kimble, will be recalling how 50 years ago, when they were both 29, they were married at St. Nicholas Church, Great Kimble. For tomorrow is their Golden Wedding Day, and they will receive the congratulations of their three sons, four daughters, and their "in laws", as well as 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and numerous friends and neighbours.
      Mrs. Redding is a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Gilbert, and was born in Kimble. She has nine brothers and one sister, and used to live at Walnut Cottage, next door to Ivy Cottage, and a few steps from her present home. Walnut Cottage was damaged by a bomb during the recent war.
      Mr. Redding is a Wendover man by birth, but has spent most of his 79 years in Kimble. He is son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Redding.
