A man who celebrated his Golden Wedding last week, Mr. Frank Cecil Cox, of Mistletoe Bough, Little Kimble, died on Sunday in Winslow General Hospital. He was 73.
He had lived at Kimble since 1916. During the 1914-18 War he served in Africa. He and his brother started a motor taxi service in Ellesborough after the war but in 1919 he started on his own in Kimble as builder and decorator until after the end of the Second World War. After that war he worked for the rural council, making particular use of his building experience.
He was a member of the Kimble branch of the British Legion and a keen supporter of Kimble Cricket Club. He was a member of the Kimble Parish Choir in his latter years.
Last week he celebrated his Golden Wedding in his hospital ward. A special tea was organised for relatives and friends.
The funeral service is tomorrow at Little Kimble Church.
