A man who was born and lived all of his life at Brook Farm, Marsh, died there at the age of 74 last Thursday. He was Mr. Sam Girling.
Mr. Girling was educated at Kimble Church of England School, Great Kimble. He had been a farmer all his working life and was a member of the Princes Risborough branch of the National Farmers' Union.
He was a keen sportsman and used to play cricket for Marsh. He also took part in point-to-point racing at Aylesbury Racecourse.
He was a member of the Kimble branch of the Conservative Association and a keen follower of the old Berkeley Hunt.
The funeral was on Tuesday at All Saints Parish Church, Little Kimble.

The wedding of Mr. Sam Girling, of Brook Farm, Marsh, near Kimble, to Miss Emma Elizabeth Shuffill, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Shuffill, of School House, Whitchurch, took place at the Whitchurch Parish Church on Saturday.
